          Abstract:

Current educational technologies differ from the previous century’s technologies, which were entitled as Web 1.0 and simply text-based environments accompanied by images. Most websites were either owned by individuals or companies. Their content was designed by webmasters, users’ interaction was limited to activities as text-based chat and downloading speed of the large files such a s audios and videos was slow. The arrival of Web 2.0 tools brought a number of significant transformations. Users could now access tools online without downloading and having to pay for them. Online services enabled users to upload their own content. This chapter illustrates several Web 2.0 technology tools which can be incorporated into language teaching classrooms depending on teachers’ contextual needs. Starting with Google applications, various tools which can be readily utilized in language teaching are given below in relation to their possible practical applications and integration in the English language classroom.
