Pluto Journals was launched in 2009, as an independent and international journal publisher in the field of the social sciences. We pride ourselves on producing world class journals that are at the cutting edge of humanities research today. 

Pluto Journals remains an international bespoke company that prides itself on being able to offer individual services to each of our publishers. Our individual service is in terms of being able to respond to the individual needs of our journals and their editors, plus, we offer a full production and marketing service. While we are a small publisher compared to the rest, we offer a more direct, supportive, and efficient relationship with our editors, readers, and aggregators.

 


 

Our team

Roger van Zwanenberg - Managing Director

Over the last 40 years Roger has been Publisher and Head of two independent publishing companies: Zed Books (1976–86) and Pluto Press (1987–2012). In 2009, Roger began to launch Pluto Journals and continues to manage the company. Roger has been interested in Global Affairs over his whole lifetime, and is currently writing a book on world history.

Eve Kanram - Journals Manager

Eve is the journals Manager at Pluto Journals, working to publish our variety of social science journals and manage their promotion. Alongside her work at Pluto Journals, Eve also coordinates activities and projects at the Ameena Gafoor Institute and the Pluto Educational Trust.

Anne Jeanpert - Finance Manager

Anne manages the financial side of Pluto Journals, working to ensure our longevity and financial health. Alongside her work at Pluto Journals, Anne is the Finance Executive and Secretary for Pluto Press where she has been since 2005.

At Pluto Journals, we publish 21 journals across the social sciences and humanities. These include research in the fields of current affairs, international studies, law, political economy, disability studies, and Arab and Islamic studies.

From 2021 we are hoping to flip all our journals to Open Access in partnership with Knowledge Unlatched. In line with the Open Science movement, we are happy to provide full price transparency of the Pluto Journals portfolio.
