While the global population has experienced extreme changes in day-to-day life, researchers have worked tirelessly to develop vaccines and treatments over the past year to halt the disease and bring the world out of lockdown. From shifting to remote work and home-schooling children to restricting travel and leisure activities, to disrupting supply chains, the COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on virtually every facet of life.
