Annual Reviews has made a special collection of articles available to recognize DNA Day, April 23, 2019. Founded by the US NIH National Human Genome Research Institute, the awareness day commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 as well as the initial discovery of DNA’s double helix in 1953. Genomics has changed what is possible in health care and food security.

Interdisciplinary research on basic science and the potential of genomic projects is also highlighted. Barry S.
