          Summary

          Colombia is one of the most exposed countries in the world to natural disasters, given its physical characteristics, in turn the occurrence of natural phenomena has increased due to climate change altering the way of life of people who live in areas of risk before phenomena such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, among others, so that authorities and competent entities have worked hand in hand with the community in preventing, reducing and mitigating risks and if this is the case in disaster events. Therefore, data as indicators allow the strengthening of measures and programs, in order to safeguard lives and develop measures to protect the environment that mitigate the risk to which vulnerable communities are exposed, this is presented more explicitly in the document where is mentioned the function of the guidelines of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management NUDRM (UNGRD). And the main examples of risk mitigation programs, that are currently being carried out based on Ecosystem Based Disaster Risk Reduction (EbA), and which improvement actions are the most feasible in order to improve the UNGRD system in Colombia.
