          Abstract

          Resumen Este artículo presenta el resultado de un estudio sobre las características del arte textil Isoceño. En primer lugar se aborda la naturaleza del saber en pueblos indígenas de tierras bajas y en el ciclo textil guaraní en particular. En segundo lugar, se presenta el proceso productivo de la elaboración del tejido, uso y valor en la actualidad. El estudio se realizó en la comunidad La Brecha, ubicada en la zona de Isoso, provincia Cordillera del Departamento de Santa Cruz en Bolivia. Los resultados nos permiten reflexionar sobre el aporte de la naturaleza del saber textil a la identidad regional.

          Translated abstract

          Abstract This article presents the result of a study on the characteristics of Isoceño textile art. It first addresses the nature of knowledge in lowland indigenous peoples and in the Guaraní textile cycle in particular. Secondly, it presents the productive process of weaving, its use, and its current value. The study was conducted in the community of La Brecha, located in the area of Isoso, Cordillera province of the Department of Santa Cruz in Bolivia. The results allow us to reflect on the contribution of the nature of textile knowledge to regional identity.
