          Abstract

Encoded Archival Description (EAD) and Dublin Core (DC) are metadata standards with different purposes. EAD fully supports archival descriptive practices, but lacks the robust mechanisms for Web resource discovery that DC provides. This article explores the relationship between the two standards and pinpoints areas where there could be a more direct relationship.
