Abstract
The optimal timing of tracheostomy in neurosurgical patients is not well established.
This retrospective study was conducted to determine the effect of the timing of tracheostomy
on clinical outcome in mechanically ventilated neurosurgical patients admitted to
the surgical intensive care unit (ICU).
