Abstract

Resumen Introducción: Enfermería se encarga del cuidado del ser, por lo tanto, se ha vuelto necesario indagar sobre las actitudes y pensamientos de las enfermeras al presenciar el fenómeno de la muerte con el fin de describir su perspectiva profesional basada en su experiencia. Objetivo: Develar la experiencia vivida de las enfermeras al cuidado del adulto mayor en proceso de cronicidad-muerte. Método: Estudio cualitativo fenomenológico basado en la experiencia de seis enfermeras, a través de una entrevista fenomenológica. El tamaño de la muestra fue por alcance o superación de un punto de saturación de significado, utilizando la técnica de cadena de referencia. Se solicitó autorización mediante un consentimiento informado. Considerando un rigor metodológico enfocado a la credibilidad, transferibilidad, dependencia y conformabilidad. El análisis fenomenológico pasó por las etapas de descripción, reducción y comprensión. Resultados: La edad de las participantes ronda entre los 27 y 43 años, siendo cinco del sexo femenino y uno masculino, con 6 a 20 años de ejercicio profesional. Obteniendo veintiséis subtemas, agrupados intuitivamente en siete unidades de significado Ónticas (Enfermería ante la muerte, Requerimientos psicofísicos, La abogada del ser en finitud y formación de un todo) y Ontológicas (Introyectar la muerte, Intención de enfermería, Sorge a la muerte). Conclusión: Las enfermeras mostraron dificultades al lidiar con el final de la vida revelando una complicada aceptación, surgiendo así, la necesidad de estudiar la muerte mediante cursos de tanatología para brindar un bien morir y poder afrontar esta realidad con la cual se convive diariamente en el ámbito hospitalario.

Abstract Introduction: Nurses are responsible for the care of being, therefore it has become necessary to investigate the attitude and thoughts of nurses by witnessing the phenomenon of death to describe their professional perspective based on their experience. Objective: To reveal the lived experience of nurses in the care of the elder in the process of chronicity-death. Method: Phenomenological qualitative study based on the experience of six nurses, through a phenomenological interview. The sample size was by scope or exceeding a significance saturation point, using the reference string technique. Authorization was requested through informed consent form. Considering a methodological rigor focused on credibility, transferability, dependence, and conformability. Phenomenological analysis went through the stages of description, reduction and understanding. Results: The age of the participants is between 27 and 43, being five female and one male, with 6 to 20 years of professional exercise. Obtaining twenty-six subtopics, intuitively grouped into seven units of Ontic meaning (Sickness to Death, Metapsychophysical Requirements, The Lawyer of Being in Finesse and Formation of a Whole) and Ontological (Introjecting Death, Nursing Intent, Sorge to Death). Conclusion: Nurses showed difficulties in dealing with the end of life revealing a complicated acceptance, thus emerging, the need to study death through courses of thanatology to provide a good death and to be able to face this reality with which it coexists daily in hospital environment.
