          Abstract

Neurocysticercosis, caused by the larvae of Taenia solium, is the most common parasitic infection of the central nervous system in humans. Considered an endemic parasitosis in developing countries including Latin America, Asia and Africa while in Europa, the cases of neurocysticercosis are anecdotal.
