Abstract

Evaluando los resultados del 2 de diciembre como cruciales para el futuro del proceso político en Venezuela, el artículo aporta elementos para el análisis de la nueva situación que se abre a Venezuela y más particularmente al “chavismo” a partir de su derrota electoral. Comienza por presentar, en una primera parte, los resultados electorales del referendo sobre la propuesta de reforma constitucional. Analiza en una segunda parte las condiciones en que ella fue elaborada y promovida. En la tercera parte se detiene, con algún detalle, en distintos aspectos de los contenidos de la propuesta, evaluando sus virtudes y vicios. La cuarta parte está dedicada a evaluar el tono y los temas del debate posreferendo. Aquí el autor se concentra en el debate “al interior” de las fuerzas políticas y sociales que apoyan el proceso de cambios. Se destaca aquí la reivindicación de un debate crítico y autocrítico. También se señalan los debates motivados por deficiencias en la gestión pública, por la inseguridad y la corrupción como factores contribuyentes en los resultados electorales. Finaliza esta parte identificando los principales ejes político-ideológicos conductores del debate abierto. En la quinta y última parte, como conclusión, se presentan las tensiones y opciones que los resultados electorales de diciembre abren para Venezuela.

Translated abstract

Starting from the crucial results for the future of the political process in Venezuela of December 2nd, the article contributes with elements for the analysis of the new situation that is opened to Venezuela and, more particularly, to the "chavism" electoral defeat. It begins for presenting in the first part, the electoral results of the referendum for the project of constitutional reform. Also it analyzes in the second part the conditions in which it was elaborated and promoted. In the third part, it elaborates on the different aspects and contents of the project evaluating its merits and vices. The fourth chapter evaluates the tone and topics of the post-referendum debate. Here the focus is on the “inner debate “of the political and social forces that support the change process. It is outlined the recovery of a critical and self-critical debate. Also it discerns about the debates motivated by the public management faults, besides insecurity and corruption as contributing factors for the electoral results. It finishes identifying the principal political-ideological driven bases of the discussion. As a conclusion, tensions and options that December electoral results proposed for Venezuela future are presented.
