Abstract

Este texto plantea una reflexión teórico-metodológica sobre la historia de vida en el marco conceptual de la historia oral, señalando los aportes a los estudios históricos contemporáneos. Se presenta la historia de vida de un socialista mexicano, Adolfo Sánchez Rebolledo, cuya praxis ha sido significativa para comprender el desarrollo de la política de izquierda en México y su intervención en las principales movilizaciones sociales que tuvieron lugar durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX. También da cuenta de los cambios y las organizaciones políticas, desde las rupturas con el estalinismo, la influencia de la revolución cubana, los movimientos por los derechos civiles y contra la guerra de Vietnam hasta llegar a la revaloración de la democracia formal y el abandono de la militancia partidaria para formar parte del movimiento social. Los testimonios que aparecen a lo largo del artículo se seleccionaron y editaron de las once sesiones de entrevistas que se hicieron con Sánchez Rebolledo en el lapso de tres años (2005-2008).

This text proposes a theoretical and methodological reflection on life stories within the conceptual framework of oral history, indicating their contributions to contemporary historical studies. It tells the life story of a Mexican socialist, Adolfo Sánchez Rebolledo, whose praxis has been crucial to understanding the development of leftist policy in México and its intervention in the main social mobilizations that took place during the second half of the 20th century. It also describes the changes and political organizations of the period, from the break with Stalinism, the influence of the Cuban revolution, civil rights movements and protests against the Vietnam War to the reappraisal of formal democracy and the abandonment of party militancy to form part of a social movement. The testimonials that emerge throughout the article were selected and edited from eleven interview sessions with Sánchez Rebolledo during a period of three years (2005-2008).
