Abstract

Funding from an Australian Research Council Special Research Initiative has enabled three major research organisations to form the Antarctic Gateway Partnership (AGP). AGP’s objectives are to advance the world’s understanding of the Antarctic environment and to enhance Tasmania’s capacity to act as a hub for East Antarctic research and exploration. The partners are the University of Tasmania, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, and the Australian Antarctic Division.
