Abstract

Resumen El objetivo de este artículo es analizar al street art como sistema social con base en la teoría de los campos de Bourdieu y comprender así las formas de participación que los productores de murales tienen en la intervención gráfica urbana, en su dimensión autorizada. Mediante entrevistas realizadas a muralistas de Tijuana se identificaron disputas materiales y simbólicas, mismas que configuran nuevas formas de intervención urbana que producen contrasentidos a formas anteriores de intervención, lo que desafía las reglas del street art en su sentido Old School.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to analyze street art as a social system based on the Bourdieu's field theory and to understand the forms of participation that the producers of murals have in the urban graphic intervention, in its authorized dimension. Through interviews with muralists in Tijuana, material and symbolic disputes were identified, configuring new forms of urban intervention that produce counter-meanings to previous forms of intervention, which defies the rules of street art in its Old School significance.
