          Abstract

          Se estudia la adsorción de Cr (VI) a partir de biomasa residual: bagazo de palma y cáscaras de ñame, además se estudia la modificación con ácido cítrico de las biomasas. La determinación del metal en solución fue llevada a cabo usando el método de la 1,5-difenilcarbazida. Del análisis FTIR se encontró que los grupos hidroxilo y carbonilo presentes en los adsorbentes son los de mayor contribución al proceso de remoción. Además, la modificación mejora la eficiencia del metal de acuerdo con la isoterma de Langmuir de 13 a 4mg/g para el bagazo de palma, y de 22 a 26mg/g para las cáscaras de ñame. Se establece además una mejora en el proceso al trabajar las biomasas en sistema continuo. De las condiciones óptimas de adsorción se determinó que el pH de 2 y el tamaño de partícula de 1mm son las que más favorecen el proceso, y el modelo de Elovich el que mejor lo describe.

          Translated abstract

          It was studied the adsorption of Cr (VI) from lignocellulosic residual biomass: bagasse palm and yam peels. Also, it was studied a modification with citric acid into biomasses to improve the efficiency of metal adsorption. Determinating this metal in solution was performed using the colorimetric method 1,5-diphenylcarbazide. From FTIR analysis and characterization adsorbents before and after the process of removal of Cr (VI) was found that hydroxyl and carbonyl groups contribution to take up this process. Modification into biomasses accord to Langmuir isotherm improves the adsorption efficiency. It was improved from 13 to 41mg/g for bagasse palm, and from 22 to 26mg/g for yam peels. In continuous systems, this process was improved. Optimal condition to remove this metal was determined in pH 2 and particle size of 1mm for both biomasses. It is also the Elovich kinetic the best model to describe the adsorption process.

          Adsorção de Cr (VI) é estudada a partir da biomassa de resíduos: conchas bagaço yam palmeiras e estudou ainda a modificação do ácido cítrico com biomassa. A determinação de metais em solução foi realizada usando o método do 1,5-difenilcarbazida. Análise FTIR verificou-se que os grupos hidroxilo e carbonilo presentes nos adsorventes são a maior contribuição para o processo de remoção. Além da modificação melhora a eficiência de metal de acordo com a isotérmica de Langmuir 13-41mg/g de bagaço, de palma, e de 22 a 26mg/g, para os reservatórios de inhame. Melhorou ainda mais estados no processo de biomassa trabalhando em sistema contínuo. As melhores condições para a adsorção foi determinado que o pH de 2 e o tamanho de partícula 1mm são o processo mais vantajoso, e Elovich modelo que melhor descreve.
