          Abstract

          Translated abstract

Abstract The physical separation of parents and children after childbirth has a series of negative consequences on the general health of the infant and on breastfeeding in the short and long term. This paper presents the clinical case of a premature newborn born in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic who remained without family support in the hospital for two months since his parents had been infected and in home isolation. Likewise, it should be noted that in this long period of time he did not receive breast milk, since the health professionals erroneously informed the mother to discard it, arguing that she could transmit SARS-CoV-2. As a consequence of these decisions, problems arose such as alteration of the mother-child bond or unwanted interruption of breastfeeding. Once the parents tested negative for COVID-19, they obtained permission to enter the unit and be with their child 24 hours a day. Kangaroo care and relactation are then promoted, where the Nursing staff acquires a fundamental role.

World Health Organization declares global emergency: A review of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

An unprecedented outbreak of pneumonia of unknown aetiology in Wuhan City, Hubei province in China emerged in December 2019. A novel coronavirus was identified as the causative agent and was subsequently termed COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO). Considered a relative of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), COVID-19 is caused by a betacoronavirus named SARS-CoV-2 that affects the lower respiratory tract and manifests as pneumonia in humans. Despite rigorous global containment and quarantine efforts, the incidence of COVID-19 continues to rise, with 90,870 laboratory-confirmed cases and over 3,000 deaths worldwide. In response to this global outbreak, we summarise the current state of knowledge surrounding COVID-19.

            Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19): A literature review

In early December 2019, an outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by a novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), occurred in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. On January 30, 2020 the World Health Organization declared the outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. As of February 14, 2020, 49,053 laboratory-confirmed and 1,381 deaths have been reported globally. Perceived risk of acquiring disease has led many governments to institute a variety of control measures. We conducted a literature review of publicly available information to summarize knowledge about the pathogen and the current epidemic. In this literature review, the causative agent, pathogenesis and immune responses, epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and management of the disease, control and preventions strategies are all reviewed.

Clinical analysis of 10 neonates born to mothers with 2019-nCoV pneumonia

The newly identified 2019-nCoV, which appears to have originated in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province in central China, is spreading rapidly nationwide. A number of cases of neonates born to mothers with 2019-nCoV pneumonia have been recorded. However, the clinical features of these cases have not been reported, and there is no sufficient evidence for the proper prevention and control of 2019-nCoV infections in neonates.
