          Abstract

          El presente trabajo, tiene como objetivo identificar las concepciones sobre la naturaleza, existentes en el ideario de Brasil durante las décadas de 1920 y 1930. Como parte de esta investigación documental fueron analizados diversas fuentes del área educacional elaborados en dicho período, tales como: publicaciones periódicas, libros de texto sobre Lectura, Geografía, Física y Ciencias Naturales, publicados y utilizados en nuestras escuelas durante las décadas señaladas. A partir de la lectura y análisis de los datos recopilados fueron identificadas las siguientes concepciones sobre la naturaleza: antropocéntrica, utilitarista, antropomórfica, como “madre común y/o como todo lo que no fue hecho por el hombre”, como “todo lo que existe, todo lo que Dios creó”, como “libro” y, finalmente, la concepción estética y/o romántica. Estas concepciones aparecen explícitamente en los libros de texto, aunque están presentes también en los demás documentos analizados.

          Translated abstract

          This paper aims to identify the conceptions of nature brought forth by the Brazilian renewed educational ideas in the 20’s and 30’s. It was analysed documents and specialized journals dealing with education, published in that period. Besides that, it were also analysed literacy, geography and scholar science texts books that were utilized in schools in that period. From these analyses it was possible to identify some conceptions of nature, such as: anthropocentric utilitarian, anthropomorphic, and “nature as mother”, as “all that was not made by man”, as “all that exist”, as “all that was created by God”, or as “book” and finally the esthetical or romantic conception of the nature. These conceptions could be clearly identified in the text books, although they were found in the documents as well.
