Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo evaluar el Programa de Control de Erradicación del Aedes aegypti y el comportamiento de éste en la provincia de Matanzas, en el período 2004-2008. Durante este período se reportan en la provincia 747 introducciones de Aedes aegypti, detectándose por el Sistema de Vigilancia Entomológica Larvitrampa el 91,4 %, y el mayor porciento fue en las Zonas de Riesgos, 36,8 %. La focalidad de Aedes aegypti se concentró en el 80,8 % de los municipios de Matanzas, Jagüey Grande, Calimete, Varadero y Jovellanos; reportando el mayor porciento el año 2006.

Translated abstract

The objective of the current work is evaluating the Control Program of Aedes aegypti Eradication and Aedes aegypti´s behavior in the province of Matanzas in the period 2004-2008. During this period there were reported 747 introductions of Aedes aegypti in the province, 91.4 % by the System of Larvatrap Entomologic Surveillance, the highest percent (36.8 %) in the Risk Zones. Aedes aegypti´s focalization was concentrated in 80.8% of the municipalities of Matanzas, Jagüey Grande, Calimete, Varadero and Jovellanos; the higher percent was reported in 2006.
