          Abstract

The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSR) is an international partnership hosted by the World Health Organization. Since its inception in 1999, the Alliance’s mission has been to promote the generation and use of health policy and systems research (HPSR) as a means to strengthen the health systems of low- and middle-income countries. Through its work with more than 350 partners around the world, the Alliance aims to make progress towards this goal through four objectives:Providing a unique forum for the health policy and systems research community; supporting institutional capacity for the conduct and uptake of health policy and systems research; stimulating the generation of knowledge and innovations to nurture learning and resilience in health systems; and increasing the demand for and use of knowledge for strengthening health systems.
