          Abstract

          Translated abstract

In Colombia, 9 families and approximately 70 species of Ephemeroptera are known. In the country, the taxonomic knowledge at the species level for this order is still incipient, since many regions remain without reports. In the department of Putumayo there are no reports of Ephemeroptera, despite de great number of water resources, located from the foothills of the Andean mountain range to the Amazonian plains. Therefore, the objective of this work was to perform a preliminary study of the Ephemeroptera fauna in this department, which to date is unknown. Ephemeroptera material from four municipalities of Putumayo (Colón, Sibundoy, Santiago, and Mocoa) was examined, which were deposited in the Entomological Collection CEBUC of the Universidad de Caldas and the Zoological Collection PSO-CZ of the Universidad de Nariño. A total of 373 individuals were studied, identified in three families, nine genera, and eight species, which are: Baetidae: Andesiops peruvianus (Ulmer), Baetodes aff. spinae Mayo, Baetodes aff. levis Mayo, Baetodes awa Salinas, Camelobaetidius edmundsi Dominique, Thomas & Mathuriau, Mayobaetis ellenae (Mayo), Prebaetodes sitesi Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty; Leptohyphidae: Tricorythodes sp.n., Haplohyphes sp., Leptohyphes nigripennis, Molineri & Zúñiga; Leptophlebiidae: Thraulodes spp.
