Abstract

Zusammenfassung. Kindertageseinrichtungen werden bislang wenig auf ihre bewegungsförderlichen Potenziale für pädagogische Fachkräfte befragt, obwohl die Bedeutung von Bewegung als Medium zur Gesundheitsförderung und Prävention unumstritten und wissenschaftlich vielfach belegt ist. Der Beitrag widmet sich der Frage nach dem Wechselverhältnis von körperlicher Aktivität bzw. Bewegung und der Arbeitsfähigkeit von pädagogischen Fachkräften am Arbeitsplatz Kita und basiert auf Daten der STEGE-Studie zur Strukturqualität und Erzieher_innengesundheit in Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) ( Viernickel, Voss, Mauz & Schumann, 2014). Die Studie liefert erstmalig empirische Ergebnisse über den Zusammenhang zwischen den Arbeitsbedingungen in Kindertageseinrichtungen und der Gesundheit und Arbeitsfähigkeit von pädagogischen Fachkräften, die auf repräsentativen Daten basieren. Abschließend werden Ansatzpunkte für eine bewegungsfördernde Gestaltung des Arbeitsplatzes Kita skizziert.

Physical Activity and Work Ability of Teaching Staff in Early Childcare

Abstract. To date, child daycare facilities have not been asked much about their potential to promote physical activity for pedagogical specialists, although the importance of physical activity as a medium for promoting health and prevention is undisputed and has been scientifically proven many times over. This contribution examines the question of how far exercise at the workplace can be a resource for the health and ability to work of pedagogical staff, and is based on the data of the STEGE study on structural quality and the health of educators in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW; Viernickel, Voss, Mauz, & Schumann, 2014). For the first time, the study provides results on the relationship between working conditions in daycare centers and the health and employability of pedagogical specialists, which are based on data representing the hospital landscape of NRW. Finally, starting points for a design of the daycare center that promotes physical activity are outlined.
