      Experiencia clínica con prazosin en México

          Abstract

          La presente investigación sobre la eficacia del prazosin solo o junto con otros agentes (diureticos) se hizo en un total de 305 enfermos de hipertension arterial ligera, moderada y severa, del cual pudieron valorarse 295 en forma completa. Se hicieron tres subgrupos, de los cuales el primero recibió prazosin solo, y el segundo, asociado conun diurético. En este segundo grupohubo un subgrupo especial aue recibió como diurético, exclusivamente politesin. Los resultados fueron: para el prazosin solo, una respuesta satisfactoria en el 82.77% de los casos; para prazosin con diureticos 55% de beneficio, y en cuanto al grupo en que se usó el politesin las cifras fueron similares a las obtenidas con el uso de otros diureticos. En lo que respecta al grupo total de 295 pacientes, la respuesta fue buena en el 77.9% de los casos; regular en el 12%, e insatisfactoria en el 9.8%. A pesar de que la asociación de prazosin con diureticos no produjo resultados tan satisfactorios como el prazosin solo, tiene la ventaja de que permite disminuir las dosis de este fármaco en 50%, y con ello, reducir la frecuencia de efectos colaterales indeseables, lo que redunda en beneficio del enfermo.
