Abstract

El artículo tiene como finalidad mostrar un análisis comparativo de la región norte del Valle del cauca. caso estudio de los municipios de Cartago, Zarzal y la Unión, se realiza una análisis de clúster a partir de variables Educación ( cobertura y analfabetismo), la eficiencia administrativa mediada desde la gestión de la administración pública, es una calificación que otorga el gobierno central a los municipios, la población total con datos del censo del 2005 y proyectado al 2013, la seguridad medida desde la tasa de homicidios y infraestructura social (acueducto, energía, gas natural, alcantarillado, suscripción a telefonía) y cobertura en salud desde el régimen subsidiado del gobierno, como variable proxy de pobreza, que permitan identificar las diferencias y similitudes con municipios vecinos para inferir si se puede converger en el concepto de región en la búsqueda de la suma de las ventajas comparativas y competitivas

This article aims to show a comparative analysis of the northern region of the Cauca Valley, a case study of Cartago, Zarzal and the Union, using the methodology of cluster analysis, based on the variables Education, from two perspectives coverage and illiteracy rate; the administrative efficiency mediated from the management of the public administration, is a qualification granted by the central government to the municipalities, the total population with 2005 census data and projected to 2013; security measured from the homicide rate; social infrastructure (aqueduct, energy, natural gas, sewerage and telephony subscription) and health coverage from the government subsidized regime, as a poverty proxy variable, to identify differences and similarities with neighboring municipalities to infer if converge in the concept of region in the search for the sum of comparative and competitive advantages.
