Abstract

The importance of training of safety personnel to deal with real world scenarios is prevalent amongst nuclear emergency preparedness and response organizations. For the development of training tools we have committed to ensure that field procedures, data collection software and decision making tools be identical during training sessions as they would be during a real emergency. By identifying the importance of a fully integrated tool, we have developed a safety support system capable of both functioning in training mode and real mode, enabling emergency response organizations to train more efficiently and effectively. This new fully integrated emergency management tool is called S3-FAST also known as Safety Support Systems – Field Assessment Survey Tool.

Kurzfassung

Die Ausbildung des Einsatzpersonals zur Bewältigung realer Szenarien ist in Organisationen der Notfallschutzvorsorge und -bekämpfung von großer Bedeutung. Für die Entwicklung von Ausbildungswerkzeugen haben wir festgelegt, dass Erkundungsverfahren, Datenerfassungs-Software und Entscheidungswerkzeuge während der Schulungseinheiten mit denen eines realen Notfalls identisch sein sollen. Indem die Wichtigkeit völlig integrierter Werkzeuge erkannt wurde, haben wir das Safety Support System entwickelt, das zum Arbeiten im Trainingsmodus und im Realmodus fähig ist und es Notfallschutzorganisationen ermöglicht, leistungsfähiger und effektiver auszubilden. Dieses völlig neue, integrierte Notfall Management Werkzeug haben wir S3-FAST (Safety Support System – Field Assesment Survey Tool) genannt.
