LAS MUJERES EN EL DISCURSO PEDAGÓGICO DE LA HISTORIA: EXCLUSIONES, SILENCIOS Y OLVIDOS

Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza la representación de las mujeres en el discurso contenido en los textos escolares de Historia de Chile desde la conquista y hasta fines del siglo XX. Para este efecto se revisaron ediciones de las décadas del ochenta, del noventa y, los textos editados y distribuidos por el Ministerio de Educación a los establecimientos chilenos municipales y particulares subvencionados, el año 2009. Desde la década del noventa el Estado Chileno se propuso eliminar el sexismo y promover la equidad de género en el sistema escolar. Pese a los intentos por sacar a las mujeres del olvido y de la invisibilidad, su representación discursiva se caracteriza por la exclusión, la generalización, la asociación con estereotipos sexistas y, la construcción de figuras pasivas y marginadas de los procesos históricos.

Translated abstract

In this paper the representation of women in school history textbooks covering the period from the conquest of Chile to the late twentieth century is analyzed. To this end editions from the decades of the eighties and nineties and the texts published and distributed by the Ministry of Education to public and subsidized schools in 2009 were revised. As of the early nineties, the Chilean State proposed to eliminate sexism and promote gender equity in the school system. Despite attempts to bring women out of oblivion and invisibility, their discursive representation is characterized by exclusion, generalization, association with gender stereotypes and the construction of passive figures marginalized from the historical processes.
