Abstract

La colonización alemana, iniciada en 1850 en el sur del país por Bernardo Philippi y Vicente Pérez Rosales, tuvo como principal objetivo unificar el territorio nacional que hasta ese entonces estaba dominado por el pueblo mapuche. A partir de dicho momento la cultura alemana se hizo presente en el sur de Chile por medio de diferentes áreas; uno de los elementos más representativos de la colonización fue la arquitectura. El presente documento tiene la finalidad de analizar las influencias de la arquitectura alemana en las zonas de colonización, y cómo estas se han ido desarrollando mediante la evolución tipológica en las viviendas localizadas en el sur del país.

Translated abstract

Begun in 1850 under the lead of Bernardo Philippi and Vicente Pérez Rosales, the German colonization in the south of Chile had as a main ob/ective to unify a part of the country until then separated by the Mapuche people. Starting then, the German culture spread in southern Chile in different areas, one of the most representative of these being architecture. This paper aims to analyze the influence of German architecture in the settlement areas, and how their typological charactecteristics have developed in houses located in the south of Chile.
