          Abstract

          En el curso de las últimas décadas los servicios financieros se han extendido y complejizado significativamente a nivel global y Bolivia no es la excepción. Esto implica un desafío para los individuos que desean acceder a dichos servicios financieros, que lo hagan de forma correcta sin comprometer su bienestar económico. La investigación pretende desarrollar una metodología de cálculo del alfabetismo financiero, utilizando el análisis de componentes principales y estructuras factoriales, realizando el análisis de fiabilidad con el estadístico Alpha de Cronbach. La evidencia empírica demuestra que la mayoría de los bolivianos no entienden los conceptos financieros básicos y avanzados. Por lo tanto, su alfabetismo financiero es bajo. La investigación sugiere en sus conclusiones incorporar el alfabetismo financiero en los currículos escolares, incentivando la educación financiera, a fin de reducir las brechas en el alfabetismo financiero de los individuos.

          Translated abstract

          In the course of the last decades have extended financial services and significantly complicated global and Bolivia is no exception. This implies a challenge for individuals who want access to financial services, which make it correctly without compromising its economic well-being. The research aims to develop a methodology for calculation of financial literacy, using principal components analysis and factorial structures, conducting the analysis of reliability with the statistical Alpha of Cronbach. Empirical evidence shows that the majority of bolivians don't understand basic and advanced financial concepts. Therefore, your financial literacy is low. Research suggests in its conclusions to incorporate financial literacy in school curricula, encouraging financial literacy, in order to reduce the gaps in the financial literacy of individuals.
