EL “MECANISMO DE LA NATURALEZA” EN LA FILOSOFÍA DE I. KANT UNA CLAVE PARA ENTENDER LA INEXPLICABILIDAD MECÁNICA DE LOS SERES ORGÁNICOS Translated title: THE “MECHANISM OF NATURE” IN THE PHILOSOPHY OF I. KANT A KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THE MECHANICAL INEXPLICABILITY OF ORGANIC BEINGS

          Abstract

          Translated abstract

ABSTRACT The article seeks to distinguish the two senses of mechanism in Kant, namely, the "mechanism of nature" as synonymous with natural causality, and the concept of mechanism deriving from the Critique of Judgment, in order to shed light on what the philosopher understands by "mechanical explanation" in teleological judgment. This makes it possible to understand why organic beings cannot be explained mechanically, thus justifying the need for teleological judgments regarding nature.
