La renovación de la sociología contemporánea

Abstract

Para los sociólogos contemporáneos, el lugar del individuo en la vida social se ha vuelto central a consecuencia de los profundos cambios culturales que se han producido en todos los ámbitos de las relaciones sociales: la familia, la escuela, el trabajo, la religión, la política, el placer y la acción colectiva. Tales cambios han implicado el relajamiento de los determinismos estructurales y, por lo mismo, la exigencia de que los individuos recurran cada vez más a su capacidad reflexiva y se comporten como individuos-sujetos-actores. La sociología no puede menos que tomar en cuenta esta nueva situación, renovando sus conceptos y teorías para estar en condiciones de entender y explicar la vida contemporánea. Los grandes cambios culturales en curso se explican por la pérdida de credibilidad del modelo cultural industrial y su sustitución gradual por otro nuevo, que puede llamarse modelo cultural identitario, el cual apela al individuo como sujeto autónomo y responsable con respecto a sí mismo, y como actor cívico y competitivo en sus relaciones con el mundo. Para el sociólogo, todo el problema radica en cómo abordar en términos teóricos y metodológicos al individuo así considerado. El artículo propone como una repuesta posible el socio-análisis, que supone la supresión de la frontera institucional entre sociología y psicología y la articulación entre tres tradiciones teóricas: la teoría de las ideologías (Marx), la teoría del habitus (Bourdieu) y la teoría del inconsciente (Freud).

Pour les sociologues contemporains, la place de l'individu dans la vie sociale est devenue centrale en vertu des bouleversements culturels opérés dans tous les domaines des rapports sociaux: la famille, l'école, le travail, la religión, la politique, le plaisir, l'action collective. Ces changements ont entrainé un relâchement des déterminismes structuraux et, donc, l'exigence pour les individus d'avoir toujours plus recours à leur capacité réflexive et d'agir en tant qu'individus-sujets-acteurs. La sociologie doit tenir compte de cette situation nouvelle et rénouveler ses concepts et théories pour arriver à comprendre et expliquer la vie contemporaine. Les changements culturels actuels s'expliquent par la perte de crédibilité du modele culturel industriel et par son remplacement progressif par un nouveau modèle: le modèle culturel indentitaire qui interpelle l'individu en tant que sujet autonome et responsable envers lui-même ainsi que comme acteur civique et compétitif dans ses relations envers les autres et envers le monde. Se pose donc la question pour le sociologue de savoir comment aborder théoriquement et méthodologiquement l'individu sous cet angle. L'article offre une réponse possible: la socio-analyse qui implique la suppression de la frontière institutionnelle entre sociologie et psychologie, et l'articulation de trois traditions théoriques: la théorie des idéologies (Marx), la théorie de l'habitus (Bourdieu) et la théorie de l'inconscient (Freud).

For contemporary sociologists, the place of individuals in social life has become central; this due to the great cultural changes that have taken place in all areas of social relationships: family, school, work, religion, politics, pleasure and collective action. Such changes have implied the relaxation of structural determinism, and at the same time, the demand that individuals make use of their reflexive capacity and behave as individuals-subjects-actors. Sociology needs to take into account this new situation and renew its concepts and theories in order to be able to deal and explain contemporary life. The great cultural changes that are taking place, can be explained due to the lack of credibility of the cultural industry model and its gradual substitution for a new one, that could be called an identity cultural model, which appeals to an individual who regards himself/herself as an autonomous and responsible subject, and as a civic and competitive actor in his/her relations with the others and with the world. For sociologists, the whole problem lies in how to approach, in theoretical and methodological terms, the individual considered in that way. This article suggests socio-analysis as a possible answer, since it implies the suppression of the institutional borderline between sociology and psychology, and the articulation of three theoretical traditions: the theory of ideologies (Marx), the theory of habitus (Bourdieu) and the theory of the unconscious (Freud).
