Abstract

Resumen: Se propone una reflexión acerca de cómo la narración histórica y sus diferentes relatos apelan a las estrategias narrativas habituales en la literatura, desde la selección del género que ayuda a comprender el modo en que se relata un hecho, hasta el uso de recursos retóricos y tropos, pasando por el empleo de oraciones narrativas. Se analiza tres textos acerca de sendos momentos en la historia contemporánea de Bolivia para evidenciar cómo los autores echan mano de estas estrategias que, además, ayudan a crear o a fijar imágenes mentales. Se concluye que la narración histórica y el modo en que los hechos son relatados termina por producir no solo imágenes (o imaginarios) compartidos, sino también modos de actuar en consecuencia.

Abstract: A reflection is proposed on how historical narration and its various accounts appeal to the usual narrative strategies in literature, from the selection of genre that helps understand how a fact is narrated, to the use of rhetorical resources and tropes, through the use of narrative sentences. Three texts about different moments in Bolivia’s contemporary history are analyzed to show how the authors make use of these strategies, which also help create or fix mental images. It is concluded that historical narration and the way events are recounted ultimately produce not only shared images (or imaginaries) but also ways of acting accordingly.
