Abstract

El siguiente artículo presenta una aproximación a los usos sociales de la lectura y escritura en la Hacienda Coconuco entre 1770 y 1850, aspectos que dan cuenta de una organización social y administrativa determinada. Este estudio se fundamentó en el análisis documental de fuentes primarias, particularmente de la correspondencia familiar de los Arboleda y Mosquera coleccionada en el Fondo Mosquera del Archivo Central del Cauca.

Translated abstract

This article attempts to understand the social uses of reading and writing in Hacienda Coconuco, between 1770 and 1850, and how they illustrate a particular social and administrative organization. The study is based on the analysis of primary sources, particularly the correspondence between members of the Arboleda and Mosquera families located in the Mosquera Collection of the Central Archive of Cauca.
