          Abstract

          This study aims to verify the influence of Strategic Human Resources Management in hotel performance, analysing hotels located in Greater Florianópolis, Brazil. The study conducted bibliographical research, presenting a theoretical basis to support the discussion, and, in terms of methodology, adopted a descriptive (in the positivist paradigm) approach. The study proposed a model analysed by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equations modelling. The sample consisted of 70 hotel managers and the instrument for data collection was a closed questionnaire. As the main results, it is noteworthy that of the 32 variables studied, 13 variables are connected to high performance in medium-sized hotels in Greater Florianópolis. The research confirmed the proposed model in which Strategic Human Resources Management is directly related to hotel performance. The study showed that employee training and development, as well as structuring the workplace, are essential Strategic Human Resources Management practices to obtain high performance.

          O presente estudo teve por objetivo verificar a relação das práticas de gestão de pessoas com o desempenho em hotéis de Florianópolis. Para a consecução deste objetivo, foi realizado inicialmente uma pesquisa bibliográfica, encontrando fundamentação teórica para suportar esta hipótese. No que tange aos procedimentos metodológicos, caracteriza- se por ser descritiva. O modelo proposto foi analisado pelos critérios de análise fatorial exploratória; análise fatorial confirmatória e modelagem de equações estruturais. A amostra foi composta por 70 gestores hoteleiros e o instrumento foi o questionário fechado. Como os principais resultados, destaca-se que das 32 variáveis estudadas, 13 variáveis possuem relação com o melhor desempenho na hotelaria de hotéis médios, na Grande Florianópolis. Como principais conclusões a pesquisa confirmou o modelo proposto no qual a gestão estratégica de pessoas tem relação direta com o desempenho hoteleiro. Mostrou que das práticas essenciais de gestão de pessoas nessa realidade estão treinamento e desenvolvimento de funcionários, bem como a estruturação do ambiente do trabalho.

          TOURQUAL: Proposal of a Protocol For Quality Evaluation on Services at Tourist Attractions

          ABSTRACT Tourism has been an important economic activity worldwide in recent years, and the increasing number of tourists and the competition among destinations pressure for the highest quality possible for tourists. The objective of this research is to propose a model to analyze the quality of services at tourist attractions. The first stage consisted of two bibliometric researches being performed, in order to identify the 'state of art' and verify the existing models of quality evaluation. Identified 36 models and 211 indicators of quality. From this initial exploratory research, a preliminary theoretical model was designed which worked with 35 indicators. The second stage collected and analyzed comments left by tourists on TripAdvisor.com. Analyzed 68.301 comments about tourist attractions in eight Brazilian cities, using the software T-LAB and compared with the indicators in the preliminary theoretic model. After of 35 indicators, 23 were maintained, 12 were excluded, and three new theoretic indicators were created, which made it possible to build a model able to be empirically tested. The test was carried out with 476 tourists who evaluated tourist attractions in Florianópolis-Brazil. In the confidence and questionnaire validation test the Alpha Conbranch presented an excellent result of 0.904 confirming the proposed model.
