Son las preguntas que guían el presente artículo, cuya finalidad es ofrecer un panorama de la técnica de grupos focales. Es una herramienta de la investigación cualitativa, que ha demostrado ser una fuente de información de enorme riqueza, para la investigación en educación médica, por su sensibilidad para indagar conocimientos, normas y valores de determinados grupos.

These are the questions that guide the present paper, whose purpose is to offer an overview of the focus groups technique. This method has demonstrated to be a useful qualitative investigation tool for medical education research, because it is the source of enormous wealth in information, by its sensitivity to investigate knowledge, norms and values of certain groups.
