Air travel is becoming ever-more accessible and the number of travellers using this mode of transport is rising each year. With the skies becoming busier than ever, it is vital that air traffic management (ATM) operates seamlessly, minimising the impact of disruptions, while ensuring the safety of large numbers of people. The SESAR programme operates under the aegis of the EU to modernise and harmonise European ATM. The SESAR JU leverages a formidable work force, uniting the skills of over 3000 experts through its partnerships and collaboration with staff associations and regulators as well as the scientific community. The SESAR JU is responsible for delivering the Master Plan, which provides the roadmap for the SES up to circa 2035. PJ20, a SESAR Programme Project lead by EUROCONTROL, offers a working environment for representatives from all European ATM stakeholders, allowing them to collaborate on the development of a shared vision and plan for the future of ATM described in the European Air Traffic Management Master Plan.
