          Abstract

          The passing away of our Advisory Board member, Professor Barbara Starfield, was sad news to the Editorial Team of the Journal of Family and Community Medicine. We lost a great friend, dedicated colleague, and a distinguished advocate of our Journal. Our field has been influenced by her studies, research, and advocacies. Her tireless work to improve the quality of primary care has been globally recognized. She was very passionate about teaching and inspiring family doctors all over the world. She believed that family medicine and primary care formed the core of health care. Prof. Starfield will always be remembered with gratitude and affection. She will be remembered for her integrity, devotion, and dedication. She will be remembered as a great teacher, mentor, innovator, communicator, and motivator. Prof. Starfield has left us her legacy, her inspiring passion, her soaring vision, and her tireless endeavors of pushing the quality of family doctors and primary care all over the world. The best way to honor her is to continue her advocacies by being a family doctor shaped with compassion and dedication. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of Prof. Starfield.
