Abstract

El presente trabajo se inserta en el campo de estudios sobre juventud y política, entendida esta última como aspecto clave del vínculo con el "proyecto común" al que los jóvenes se suman formalmente como nuevos ciudadanos. Desde una perspectiva psicosocial y con foco en el contexto contemporáneo argentino, el artículo problematiza la relación entre cómo conciben los jóvenes a "la ciudadanía" en un plano ideal y cómo son sus actitudes como ciudadanos en-situación, con especial interés en las tensiones y articulaciones entre la moral y la política, lo individual y lo social. En esta línea, se presentan y analizan resultados de un estudio realizado en Argentina entre el 2011-3 con jóvenes estudiantes (N=275) en el cual se indaga, por una parte, sus modelos de ciudadanía y, por otra, sus propuestas para abordar la llamada "inseguridad", una problemática percibida por ellos como central y actual, enfrentándolos a una alta conflictividad social. Como resultado, se establecen tres ideal/es de ciudadano (individual, social y político) y tres tipos de posicionamiento subjetivo (punitivo, disciplinar y político), que se infieren a partir de sus propuestas para abordar "la inseguridad". Se concluye problematizando y reflexionando sobre la correlación hallada en la mayoría de los participantes entre el ideal individual del ciudadano, con fuerte impronta moral, y el posicionamiento punitivo frente al conflicto, y remarcando la necesidad de trabajar en pos de la incorporación de la dimensión social y política al pensamiento de los jóvenes.

Translated abstract

This paper is part of the field of studies concerning youth and politics, understood as a key part of the bond between young people with the "common project" to which they are formally added as new citizens. It questions the relationship between how young people think "the citizenship" in an ideal plane and how their attitudes as citizens in situation, from a psychosocial perspective and with a focus on contemporary Argentine context. It has a special interest in the tensions and links between morality and politics, and individual agency and social dimensions. In this line, this article discuss results of a study conducted in Argentina between 2011-3 among young students (N = 275). It inquires, first, the models of citizenship and, secondly, its proposals for addressing the perceived call "insecurity" as a central and current problem that confronts the social conflict. As a result, three ideals of citizenship (individual, social, and political) and three types of subjective positioning (punitive, disciplinary, and political) are set, inferring from their proposals for resolving "insecurity". Then, it examines the correlation found in most of the participants between the individual ideal of citizenship, with strong moral impression, and the punitive positioning among the conflict. Finally, it notes the need to work towards incorporating social and political dimension to the thinking of the young people.
