          Abstract

The Orang Asli economically is the most marginalized ethnic group in Malaysia. This is due to their low education attainment, heavy dependence on subsistence agriculture and their locations in the interior of the country. The paper evaluates the effectiveness of this program, specifically the success and failure of each program. The methodologies are a review of literature that has documented resettlement of Orang Asli as well as works that have been done by the authors on some resettlement cases in Peninsular Malaysia. It synthesises and summarises these works to determine the effectiveness of the resettlement and redevelopment program of Orang Asli.
