          Abstract

          El presente estudio de caso de naturaleza descriptiva e interpretativa aborda la dimensión cognitiva de 15 profesores de inglés universitarios, quienes mediante una entrevista semi-estructurada, una entrevista de autorreflexión, un cuestionario tipo Likert y la escritura de diarios autobiográficos, revelan sus creencias lingüístico-pedagógicas, respecto a la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del inglés, en el contexto de una universidad de la Octava Región de Chile.

          Translated abstract

          This qualitative case study of descriptive and interpretative nature, approaches the cognitive dimension of 15 English as a Foreign Language academics, who, through a semi-structured interview, a self-reflection interview, a Likert-like survey and journal-keeping, unravel their linguistic-pedagogical beliefs, regarding the teaching and learning of English in a local university in the Eighth Region of Chile.
