Walter Benjamin y sus usos profanos de la teología

Abstract

Invisible, pero al mismo tiempo pregnante e irreductible a doctrina, esencia o principio de carácter último, la teología en Benjamin se ubica a la vez en el lugar del uso filosófico, de la astucia o métis metodológica, y de la gramática profunda del lenguaje benjaminiano, plasmándose en los diferentes niveles del corpus: antropología de la experiencia, filosofía del lenguaje, política de la historia. Si la teología en Benjamin no puede enfocarse como objetivo temático en el corpus, ni puede tampoco descifrarse como interpretación, como sucedería en la perspectiva de una hermenéutica teológica de los textos benjaminianos, ésta debe más bien exscriptarse a través de su uso contextual, ya que el mesianismo y la teología en Benjamin no definen sino usos e imágenes profanas, cuyo impacto se asemeja a las alegorías, las parábolas productivas, y las imágenes de pensamiento.

Invisible, but simultaneously impregnating and irreducible to an ultimate doctrine, essence or principle, theology in Benjamin takes at the same time the place of philosophical use, of methodological cunning or Metis, and of the deep grammar of Benjaminian language, played out in the various levels of the corpus, specifically: anthropology of experience, philosophy of language and politics of history. If theology in Benjamin can neither be seen as a thematic purpose in the corpus, nor deciphered as an interpretation, as it would happen in the view of a theological hermeneutics of Benjamin's writings, it should rather be exscripted, through its contextual use, since messianism and theology in Benjamin only define uses and profane thoughts whose impact is similar to the one of allegory, productive parables, and images of thought.
