Abstract

RESUMEN Fundamento: Los traumatismos del pabellón auricular, producidos por diversas causas, no se presentan con frecuencia, pero siempre son un reto para el cirujano encargado de la reconstrucción. Objetivo: describir los resultados de la cirugía reconstructiva del pabellón auricular. Métodos: estudio descriptivo, de serie de casos, realizado en el Hospital Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima, de Cienfuegos, en el periodo 2015-2019. Se aplicó anestesia local en todos los casos (5), y las técnicas Tubo de Filatov, y la retro auricular, de Dieffenbach, las cuales fueron ilustradas a través de imágenes de los diferentes casos. Se analizó para cada paciente la edad, sexo y causa del traumatismo. Resultados: los pacientes presentados fueron relativamente jóvenes, y solo uno fue del sexo femenino. En 4 de ellos la pérdida parcial del pabellón auricular fue causada por traumatismos con armas blancas y mordidas humanas, respectivamente; en el paciente restante la ausencia de la estructura era congénita. En todos se combinaron ambas técnicas (Filatov y Dieffenbach) para la reconstrucción quirúrgica, con un resultado estético favorable. Conclusión: La serie presentada, aunque no es extensa, evidencia que es posible la rehabilitación de los defectos estructurales del pabellón auricular, ya sea parcial o total, mediante técnicas quirúrgicas sencillas que permiten alcanzar el resultado estético esperado.

ABSTRACT Background: Injuries to the pinna, caused by various causes, are not frequent, but they are always a challenge for the surgeon in charge of reconstruction. Objective: to describe the results of reconstructive surgery of the pinna. Methods: descriptive study, case series, carried out at the Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima Hospital, Cienfuegos, in the period 2015-2019. Local anesthesia was applied in all the cases (5), and the Filatov tube techniques, and the retro auricular, of Dieffenbach, which were illustrated through images of the different cases. The age, sex and cause of the trauma were analyzed for each patient. Results: the patients presented were relatively young, and only one was female. In 4 of them, the partial loss of the auricle was caused by trauma with sharp weapons and human bites, respectively; in the remaining patient, the absence of the structure was congenital. Both techniques (Filatov and Dieffenbach) for surgical reconstruction were combined in all, with a favorable aesthetic result. Conclusion: The series presented, although not extensive, shows that it is possible to rehabilitate the structural defects of the auricle, either partially or totally, using simple surgical techniques that allow achieving the expected aesthetic result.
