Conducta sexual, embarazo y aborto en la adolescencia: Un enfoque integral de promoción de salud

Abstract

La conducta sexual irresponsable, el embarazo no deseado y el aborto provocado constituyen problemas de salud que se presentan con frecuencia en los adolescentes. El presente trabajo pretende realizar un análisis, en el contexto nacional, de los factores que actúan en las dimensiones social, grupal e individual y su posible influencia en la manifestación de estos problemas. Se destaca la necesidad de un enfoque de promoción de salud que proponga acciones teniendo en cuenta, de manera integral, la responsabilidad compartida entre las organizaciones sociales, el sistema de salud, el sistema educacional, las familias y los individuos, para favorecer un comportamiento sexual que contribuya a disminuir el embarazo y el aborto en las adolescentes

Irresponsible sexual behavior, undesired pregnancy and induced abortion are frequent health problems among adolescents. This papers tries to make an analysis, in the national context, of the factors acting on the social, group and individual dimensions and their possible influence on the manifestation of these problems. It is stressed the need of a health promotion approach, which recommends actions taking into account, in a comprehensive way, the responsibility shared by the social organizations, the health system, the educational system, families and individuals, to favor a sexual behavior contributing to reduce pregnancy and abortion in the adolescents
