          Abstract

Melatonin (100 n M–100 μ M) showed a chemotactic action on cultured chick retinal pigment epithelial cells. This effect was equivalent to that of N-formyl methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine. Other methoxyindole derivatives had no or less chemotactic effects than melatonin.
