Abstract

Insects play a key role in the biodiversity of regional ecosystems. To effectively protect natural diversity at the regional level, it is important to adhere to certain principles. This article discusses the basic principles of protecting the natural diversity of insects at the regional level. These principles include an ecosystem-based approach, conservation of multiple habitats, protection of endemic species, mitigation of human impacts, Red List species assessment, public engagement, biodiversity research, sustainable land use, collaboration and partnerships, and adaptation to changing conditions.
