Abstract
The pleiotropic effect of hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins)
might have a beneficial effect in sepsis through several mechanisms. The aim was to
assess the efficacy and safety of statins, compared with placebo, for the treatment
of sepsis in adults.
