          Abstract

Drinking water was the center of attention in 2016. There is good reason to believe the sector should expect reinvestment in water infrastructure, and ensuring that the public has safe drinking water will continue to be highlighted for the foreseeable future. US federal policy development is not a rapid process, which can be frustrating for some, but the current system provides for more substantiated decisions. It also gives local communities time to learn and make decisions to try to balance multiple demands over longer time frames.
