Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of IL-27 in the detection of tuberculous pleurisy by comparing with the detection of tuberculous bacterial nucleic acid in pleural effusion.
Methods From November 2017 to May 2018, 53 patients with tuberculous pleurisy and 49 patients with malignant pleural effusion were selected from the Tuberculosis Department of Wuxi No′5 People′s Hospital. The levels of IL-27 in pleural effusion and serum of the two groups were detected, and tuberculosis nucleic acid in pleural effusion was detected, then the results were analyzed statistically.
Results The concentration of IL-27 in pleural effusion of tuberculosis group was (516 ± 14) ng/ L, which was higher than that of malignant group (313±87)ng/L ( P<0.001). The concentration of IL-27 in malignant group was higher than that in tuberculosis group, but there was no significant difference. The sensitivity and specificity of ROC curve in the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy were 88.0% and 78.0% respectively. The sensitivity of IL-27 detection in pleural effusion in the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy was higher than that of tuberculous bacterium nucleic acid ( P<0.001).
Conclusion The detection of IL-27 in pleural effusion has high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy, and it is a simple and efficient method for assistant diagnosis.
