          Abstract

The objective of this paper is to detect if, how and what relations among concepts and bibliographic entities have been examined in the knowledge organisation system based on Colon Classification, and how these are represented within notations produced during the classification process. The aim is pursued through the review of tools to locate and represent concepts and their relations presented in the first part of the Colon Classification manual, and through the analysis of the meaning of the symbols used to this purpose.
