          Abstract

          Nerve fibers displaying substance P-like immunoreactivity (SPLI) were demonstrated in a whole human iris-ciliary body preparation using immunofluorescence technique. The SPLI nerves were mainly to be located in the posterior iris stroma beneath the pupillary sphincter muscle.
