Abstract

Resumen En los últimos tiempos ha habido una tendencia en la historiografía hacia los estudios de la llamada “gente sin historia”. Entre ellos destacan los relativos a negros, bandidos, criminales y prostitutas, entre otros tantos, que debido a su exclusión social habían permanecido por largo tiempo al margen de la historia. La prostitución, que ha tenido como centro de atención a las mujeres como sujetos portadores de una historia en sí y para sí, ha sido uno de los más interesantes. Primero por ser un tema feudo de la literatura testimonial y de ficción y porque cuyas particularidades no son recogidas en documentos históricos suscritos por las autoridades o instancias oficiales. El estudio realizado pretende explicar la incidencia del contexto histórico en el auge de la prostitución en Sancti Spíritus entre los años 1942 y 1952. Para ello se utiliza como método el histórico-lógico, empleado para el análisis de la racionalidad inherente al objeto de investigación en concreto, y para la relación que existe entre procesos estructurales y el desarrollo propio de la prostitución en Sancti Spíritus, el explicativo-ilustrativo, el analítico-sintético y el análisis de documentos. Se consultaron además fuentes de la información primaria, destacando los documentos de archivo y las publicaciones periódicas consultadas.

Abstract In recent times there has been a trend in historiography towards studies of the so-called "people without history."Among them, those related to blacks, bandits, criminals and prostitutes stand out among many others who, due to their social exclusion, had remained for a long time on the margins of history. The prostitution that has focused on women as subjects bearing a story in and of themself, has been one of the most interesting. First, because it is a fiefdom of testimonial and fictional literature and because its particularities are not collected in historical documents signed by the authorities or official instances. The study carried out aims to explain the incidence of the historical context in the rise of prostitution in Sancti Spíritus between 1942 and 1952, using the historical-logical method, used for the analysis of the rationality inherent to the object of investigation in particular and the relationship that exists between structural processes and the development of prostitution in Sancti Spíritus; the explanatory-illustrative, the analytical-synthetic and the analysis of documents. Sources of primary information were also consulted, highlighting archive documents and periodical publications.
