      Estrategias para mejorar el cumplimiento del régimen terapéutico en pacientes hipertensos

          Abstract

          Este estudio se diseñó para probar estrategias que mejoraran el cumplimiento de los regímenes medicos por parte del enfermo, y para ese fin se compararon dos grupos de pacientes: el primero recibió el regimen medicamentoso que consistió en un diurético como la clortalidona en dosis de 50 mg diarios hasta un máximo de 100 mg al día; un bloqueador alfa-adrenérgico como el prazosin, en dosis de lmg a 15 mg dos veces al día, y un bloqueador beta-adrenérgico como el propra-nolol, en dosis crecientes de 10 mg dos veces al día, hasta un máximo de 160 mg dos veces al día. Además de este regimen farmacológico se sometió este grupo a experiencias educativas programadas. El segundo grupo (testigo o control) solo recibió el regimen medicamentoso. Al finalizar tres meses de estudio se demostró que no existía diferencia estadísticamente significativa en el cambio promedio en la tension arterial entre el grupo experimental y el testigo. Sin embargo, la impresión que tenemos en base a nuestras observaciones fue que hubo una tendencia a un mayor descontrol de la tension arterial a medida que se aumentaba el intervalo entre una y otra citas de vigilancia clínica.
